ArlinMigliazzoDr Migliazzo is Professor of History at Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington, where he has also served as Department Chair and Director or Faculty Development. He is a former Fulbright/Hays Scholar in American Studies and the editor or” Teaching as an Act or Faith: Theory and Practice in Church-Related Education “and ” Lands or True and Certain Bounty: The Geographical and Colonization Strategies or Jean Pierre Purry “. Dr Migliazzos fascination with Purry led to a choice or Purrys colonization or Purrysburg Township as the theme for his PhD Dissertation. Upon approval or the Dissertation, his Advisory Board strongly rec­ommended that he further edit the work in form of a published book. The result is” To Make This Land Our Own: Community, Identity, and Cultural Adaptation in Purrysburg Township, South Carolina, 1732-1865 &: 2007 University of South Carolina Press . At the Georgia Salzburger Society Heritage Day Meeting on Labor Day 2016,
Dr Magliazzo will honor us with a presentation covering the settlement of Purrysburg and its cultural relationship with the subsequently settled Ebenezer by our Salzburger ancestors. Hope to see all of you there.
